Three Treatments for Glowing Skin

Dull skin? Not anymore. These in-office (or in-spa) services will get you glowing again.

By the middle of winter, skin often starts to look dull, dry, and more tired than usual — especially as we age. Cold air, indoor heat, and slower cell turnover can make fine lines, uneven tone, and texture more noticeable. When topical products aren’t cutting it, in-office treatments can help jump-start glow again. These are three I’ve personally tried, each at a different level of commitment, downtime, and cost.

JetPeel

Best for: Instant glow, zero downtime

How it works:
JetPeel uses pressurized air and liquid to exfoliate and infuse skin with hydration and actives — without needles or irritation.

My experience:
My skin looked noticeably brighter, smoother, and more hydrated immediately. No redness, no recovery time.

Downtime:
None

Price:
$170–$350 (varies by provider and treatment)

Where I had it:
Skincare by Wendy, Sayville

Ambiance Salon and Spa, Hewlett

PRX Derm Perfection

Best for: Glassy skin with minimal downtime

How it works:
PRX is topical solution made up of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), kojic acid, and hydrogen peroxide. It’s considered biostimulator treatment applied in layers to brighten and stimulate skin renewal and collagen, without needles or traditional peeling agents.

My experience:
I had true glass skin right away, and the glow lasted for several days. A few days later, I did experience light flaking — even though it’s often described as “no peel,” and then back to radiance. It’s recommended to have a series of four treatments, spaced one week apart.

Downtime:
Minimal (possible light peeling)

Price: $250-$400 per session (often with discounted packages available for the full series)

Where I had: Blue Water Spa, Oyster Bay

MOXI Laser

Best for: Improving tone, texture, and early signs of aging

How it works:
MOXI is a non-ablative laser that targets uneven tone, early sun damage, and texture while stimulating collagen production. It’s designed to improve overall skin quality gradually, rather than deliver instant glow.

My experience:
There was redness and a sandpaper-like texture for a few days afterward, but once that phase passed, my skin looked clearer, smoother, and more even. This is the treatment I choose when I’m thinking longer-term skin health. It’s suggested to get a corrective series of at least three, and then do maintenance quarterly.

Downtime:
A few days of redness and rough texture

Price: $600-$900 per session for face and neck (often with discounted packages for a series)

Where I’ve had it: Permanent Touch Cosmetics, Woodbury
