Summer Obsessions

Summer’s in full swing, and these are the things I’m loving (or seriously eyeing) right now, from sparkly skirts with a crisp white tee and elevated flip flops to a sunscreen that makes my skin glow — and more. Here’s what caught my eye this summer.

  • Sparkly skirt with a white tank

    Everyday Glam

I love the look of a sparkly skirt with a basic tee or a tank. It’s unexpected and effortlessly chic. This week I was drooling over these lace, beaded skirts from New York-based designer Uli Herzner. The entire collection is sold out online, but I’ll be watching the site closely for more.

  • Indie Lee Primer SPF 50

    Glowing Skin

I recently tried the Indie Lee Primer Sunscreen SPF 50 because I was looking for one that won’t pill under my makeup. This one feels almost like a facial oil and soaks into skin — no pills. But it also makes my skin look dewy and radiant. It has a sheer golden tint, so I can wear it with or without makeup.

  • eagle wing necklace

    Meaningful Jewelry

I love jewerly that’s symbolic in some way. I like a piece with a story behind it. My latest purchase was this eagle wing necklace. The meaning of eagle wings is divine protection, spiritual renewal, and freedom —and yes to all that. I found this one at Elyse Boutique in Greenlawn.

  • Hugo spritz

    Summer Spritz

I love a spritz in the summer. They’re refreshing and don’t make me feel icky like other alcoholic beverages tend to lately (thanks, perimenopause). I assume that’s because of the hydrating club soda. I’m a little late to the Hugo Spritz trend, but it’s my new drink of choice: prosecco, elderflower liqueur, club soda, and fresh mint.

  • TKEES Lily Nudes Leather Flip Flop in Au Naturale

    Elevated Flip Flops

I love the ease of flip flops in the summer, but the rubber ones can look a little too casual with some outfits. I’ve been living in this brown leather pair from TKEES this summer. The leather, minimalist style is dressed up just enough that I don’t feel like a college kid when I wear them out and about.

  • Dune Road Meadow and Bark

    Summer Scent

I picked up the Dunes Road scent from Long Beach-based brand Meadow & Bark. Like its name suggests, it’s the smell of the Hamptons in summer: salt air, greens, sun-warmed skin. The notes are coconut, honeysuckle, gardenia, vetiver, sandalwood, fresh-cut grass, and more.
