Grande Moves: From Lashes to Pilates

A big name in beauty is flexing her fitness side in Westhampton.

Alicia Grande, founder of Grande Cosmetics, created the #1 lash and brow serum in the U.S.

When a beauty industry powerhouse teams up with a hometown wellness entrepreneur, you can expect something special. That’s exactly what happened in Westhampton Beach when Alicia Grande joined forces with Loulou Gaget to bring Soundbody Hamptons to Main Street.

“The town of Westhampton Beach is becoming very popular with the family crowd, so when I purchased a summer house in 2020, it was super comfortable to me to walk around town in fitness wear,” says Grande. “The foot traffic on Main Street is very busy and community-focused and, as they say, location, location, location.”

When Grande learned that Soundbody Hamptons founder Loulou Gaget was the daughter of one of her closest friends, she knew she wanted to get involved.

“Loulou is super inspiring,” says Grande. “I knew she had the grit, passion, and determination to make this work, and I was correct in my judgment—we’ve been a hit since opening!”

Soundbody Hamptons is a female-owned, community-focused studio that blends classic and contemporary Pilates with mindfulness year-round.

Grande says the studio reflects her long-held belief that beauty and wellness go hand-in-hand. “Seventeen years ago, I launched Grande Cosmetics inspired by a deeply personal experience: postpartum lash loss after the birth of my two sons,” she says. “Like so many women, I felt a disconnect between how I looked in the mirror and how I felt.” Grande partnered with a chemist to create GrandeLASH-MD and saw the potential of beauty when it comes from within. “I’m using that same passion now for the body with my newest venture, Pilates,” she says. “The studio is an extension of everything I believe: that beauty and wellness are inseparable, and confidence begins when we feel our best—mentally, physically, and emotionally.”

Gaget, a registered yoga teacher and sculpt trainer turned Pilates instructor, says Soundbody offers something different. “I designed a trademarked approach that blends classic and contemporary Pilates with mindfulness at the center of each workout,” she says. “What I felt was missing from the average Pilates class was a layer of intentional guidance toward mindfulness throughout.” She says clients will feel that infused into every single class—from Reformer Pilates to Mat Pilates to Sculpt and Strength sessions in our infrared heated room. “We also offer deep meditation, sound bath, and intentional partnerships with wellness providers to keep our community members feeling their absolute best.”

To Gaget, the community connection is as important as the workout. “Soundbody Hamptons is a female-owned, community-focused studio that boosts and supports other local businesses,” says Gaget. “Growing up in the Westhampton Beach area, I set out to bring something to my hometown that was so needed: a third space, a fun and challenging way to move your body, and a place to meet like-minded people, all in one location on Main Street.”
