1. Chrome + Cat-eye: The Nail Combo We’re Seeing Everywhere
A mashup of two major nail moments, this look blends high-shine chrome with magnetic cat-eye details for a finish that feels modern but still wearable. These nails were created by Maria Ortiz, a nail pro based in Sayville.
2. The Body Oil Step You Might Be Making
I stopped into Meadow & Bark in Long Beach this weekend and came home with the clean brand’s Body Oil in Moon Goddess, a soft Lily of the valley scent. Employee Shannon reminded me that body oil only works to when you apply it to wet/damp skin. Oils don’t exactly hydrate; they seal in what’s already there. So when water from your shower or bath is still on your skin, the body oil with lock in that moisture. If skin is already dry, oil mostly sits on top. It can feel nice and give slip and glow, but it’s not doing much long-term moisture-wise.
3. The “Butterfly Cut” Still Has Wings in 2026
The butterfly cut, a layered hairstyle that creates volume and movement while keeping overall length, is expected to continue its reign this year and will also be paired with curtain bangs like this cut (and color) by Samantha Grover, owner of Signature Salon in Yaphank.
