“How I Created This Look”

Makeup artist Lisa Marie gives us the details on this soft glam bridal makeup — that works for any occasion.

We’re kicking off a new series where beauty pros break down their work — what they used, why they chose it, and how the look came together. It’s a behind-the-scenes peek at the process.

Pro: Makeup Artist Lisa Marie

What inspired the look:

“The bride wanted her freckles to show through, so the goal was very sheer, natural-looking skin. I’m usually against this kind of minimal coverage for bridal because it doesn’t always photograph well, but this bride has invested years —and a lot of money — into her skin through extensive at-home care, professional peels, and facials. Because of that, I was able to achieve it.”

Hero products:
Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes Palette (please bring it back!), Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, and the d’Alba Piedmont White Truffle First Spray Hydrating Glow Mist Serum — all key for creating that lit-from-within glow.

Application tips:
I mix foundation with the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter to sheer it out and give the skin a soft, radiant finish with light coverage. I spray the d’Alba spray serum before makeup to prep the skin and again afterward to melt everything together. I also use minimal powder — just enough to set without taking away the glow.
